What IV therapy actually is
Intravenous therapy delivers fluids, vitamins, minerals and amino acids directly into the bloodstream, bypassing the digestive tract entirely. That matters because oral absorption is variable: gut health, timing, food and dose all change how much of a nutrient actually reaches your blood.
At Organic Well, IV therapy is not a menu you order from. Every infusion is selected by a licensed provider after a medical review of your history, symptoms and labs. If your fatigue has a cause we can identify and treat, we treat the cause first.
How it works, step by step
- 01Medical intake: history, medications, symptoms and goals, plus screening for conditions that make infusion inappropriate.
- 02Labs, when indicated: nutrient status, kidney function, iron studies, inflammatory markers and metabolic panels.
- 03Formula selection: your physician chooses components and doses from those results, not a fixed package.
- 04Infusion: 30 to 60 minutes in a calm, supervised setting, administered by licensed clinical staff, in clinic or at your chosen location.
- 05Monitoring and follow-up: vitals during the session, response reviewed at your next visit and confirmed by repeat labs.
Who it's for, and who it isn't
Likely a good fit: adults with documented nutrient gaps, athletes in heavy training or recovery blocks, patients with malabsorption or post-illness depletion, frequent travelers, and people already in a physician-led plan who need faster repletion.
Likely not a fit: anyone expecting an infusion to replace sleep, nutrition or treatment of an underlying condition; patients with significant kidney impairment, heart failure or fluid restrictions; anyone with a history of oxalate stones or G6PD deficiency being considered for high-dose vitamin C.
What to expect at your first visit
Your first appointment is a consultation, not an infusion. Expect a full intake, a review of any outside labs you bring, and a written plan. If bloodwork is needed we arrange the draw and review results together, usually within one to two weeks. Only then, if it is clinically appropriate, is an infusion scheduled.
Safety, side effects and contraindications
The most common effects are minor and short-lived: a cool sensation along the arm, a metallic taste, mild bruising at the IV site, or lightheadedness. Less common risks include vein irritation, infiltration and allergic reaction.
High-dose vitamin C is avoided in G6PD deficiency and used cautiously in kidney disease and in patients with a history of calcium-oxalate stones. IV therapy is not emergency care. If you are having chest pain or difficulty breathing, call 911.
Pricing and insurance
Organic Well does not participate with insurance plans. That choice is what allows longer visits, advanced testing and genuinely personalized care. Fees are explained transparently before anything is scheduled, and we provide superbills you can submit for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Concierge visits carry an additional travel fee, quoted before you book.
In clinic, or wherever you are
Our clinic is at 3661 S. Miami Ave, Suite 1003, minutes from Brickell, Coral Gables and downtown Miami, and infusions here are given in a private, quiet room rather than a lounge.
We also come to you. Concierge IV therapy is available at your home, hotel or office across Miami-Dade for an additional travel fee. It is useful if you are recovering, traveling, working to a deadline, or simply would rather not spend an hour in traffic either side of a treatment. Nothing about the medicine changes: the same physician review before anything is ordered, the same licensed clinical staff, the same monitoring throughout and the same follow-up afterwards. Your provider will confirm whether your specific protocol is suitable for a mobile setting, and will say so plainly if it is not. Consultations and lab reviews can also be completed by secure video for patients elsewhere in Florida.
