What telehealth looks like at Organic Well
Telehealth here is the same service as an in-clinic visit: the same physician, the same intake structure and the same length of appointment, delivered over secure video. What changes is the logistics: you do not lose two hours to traffic on I-95 for a conversation that does not require an examination.
Some appointments are simply better suited to it. Reviewing a twelve-marker lab panel, adjusting a protocol, or checking in six weeks after a change are all conversations, and conversations travel well.
How it works, step by step
- 01Booking: you receive a secure video link and an intake form to complete beforehand.
- 02Preparation: any outside labs, imaging or medication lists are uploaded in advance so the appointment is spent on discussion, not admin.
- 03The consultation: a full intake or review, with the same time allocation as an in-clinic visit.
- 04Testing: where labs are needed, we send the order to a laboratory near you and coordinate the draw.
- 05Follow-up: results reviewed together on video, with a written plan sent to you afterwards.
Who it’s for, and who it isn’t
Likely a good fit: patients elsewhere in Florida who want physician-led functional medicine, people with demanding schedules or frequent travel, anyone whose appointment is a lab review or protocol adjustment, and established patients maintaining continuity while away.
Likely not a fit: any situation needing a physical examination, an in-person procedure such as IV therapy, or urgent assessment. New patients with complex presentations are often better served by an initial in-clinic visit, and we will tell you when that applies to you.
What to expect at your first visit
Exactly what you would expect in the room: a full history, review of your existing records, discussion of goals, and an agreed plan. You will be asked to confirm your physical location at the start of the appointment (a legal requirement, not a formality) and to have a phone number on file in case the connection drops.
Rules, limits and privacy
Florida telehealth regulations require that you are physically located in Florida during the appointment, regardless of where you normally live. Certain controlled substances cannot be prescribed via telehealth under state law; where that applies, we will arrange an in-person visit rather than work around it.
Appointments are conducted on a secure, encrypted platform. Please join from a private space with a stable connection, and avoid public wireless networks. Telehealth is never a substitute for emergency care. If you are experiencing chest pain, difficulty breathing, or another medical emergency, call 911.
Pricing and insurance
Organic Well does not participate with insurance plans. Telehealth consultations are priced the same as the equivalent in-clinic appointment, disclosed in advance, and superbills are provided for potential out-of-network reimbursement.
